Dodgy Dog imitates and plays with mainstream music trends, blending weird post-pop with hardcore and gabber, genres that were once part of subculture but no longer are. In this sense, Dodgy Dog intentionally avoids being subcultural, instead embracing a trendy, celebratory, sexy, and flirtatious vibe.
