LOLITA
Lolita (she/her) gives form to repressed emotions and collective pain shaped by cultural norms. A voice for loss and uncomfortable truths, Lolita channels grief and resilience, reflecting queer and feminist perspectives on care, trauma, and the silenced. Borrowing from the artist's experiences as sex worker, Lolita stages with ferocious vitality the power systems which use the gender binary as a societal control tool. The femininity, experienced as repressed and oppressed in an individual assigned male at birth, bursts out as Lolita: grotesque, wise, angry, loud, loving, reckless...

The phrase Wrecked Exotics originates from the name of a now dormant lo-fi website, archiving photographs of luxury sports cars that have been involved in dramatic and absurd collisions.
Asking the invited performers to respond to this phrase, the event will embody a carnivalesque atmosphere through a collision of disparate genres and materials. Situating the event within a nightclub expands on the idea of the heterotopia; a space that offers up fantastical, hedonistic, and antagonistic moments that can feel so raw yet are completely fleeting.
Think of a chipped manicured nail. Think of a burnout Lamborghini. Think of a glob of spit trying to percolate on a cold marble surface. Welcome to Wrecked Exotics.
